Nikolas Scarcelli is a recent pre-med graduate with a major in biology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. His expertise focuses on the sciences such as Biology, (General and Organic) Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Biochemistry and Neuroscience. His technique of asking rhetorical questions teaches conceptual understanding rather than memorization.
Sherry Holliday has an M.Ed. in Advance Literacy Instruction. As a Reading Specialist and an ESL Instructor she has a vast amount of knowledge working with all grade levels. Her primary focus is on academic competency and maximization of learning abilities for all students. She also specializes in Adult Education and volunteers her time at the Literacy Advance of Houston teaching adult’s ESL.
Afton Yoho is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelor’s in Communication. She has worked in education for 13 years. Her work as both and educator and reading interventionist has consistently inspired her to continue her focus on the latest research on child development to ensure that her programming is preparing a child for future success.
Ramona Nicholas has an M.Ed. degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her focus has been in reading and writing intervention on the middle school and high school level. She also has an extensive background in visual communication (use of film hooks, clips, visual technology) which she uses to help students achieve academic success.
Rebekah Kingdom has a BS in Natural Resource Management with a minor in Agribusiness Management. She specializes in Biology and English. She also does Web/Graphic Designing.
Jenny Kurtz graduated with a BA in Psychology from Texas State University in 2017. During her three years in undergrad, she tutored students privately through the Student Learning Assistance Center at her campus library. She handled a course load of 15+ hours while working with over 10 students throughout the semester. Jenny also has experience working with the special needs population as an ABA Therapist and a Sensory Motor Coach. Jenny and her husband spent the last year in Knoxville, TN while he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During this time, they welcomed their first baby girl into the world. The new family recently relocated back to Texas to be closer to friends and family. In her free time, Jenny is currently working towards her Interior Design degree so she can contribute to the construction of eco-friendly design materials. She also likes to play guitar, train for upcoming running events, and visit new places around Houston.
